I was walking through the U-district, making my way to meet up with some friends at Cafe Solstice to draw.
This guy pops out of an alley and... "you got a cigarette"
"no" I say back

he starts walking with me.
reads my shirt, trying to keep a dead conversation going
"water music?"

"hot water music" I say back to him as I speed up my pace to get some distance between us.

I wasn't about to become this guy's new best friend.
